Basic Submission Guidelines

Relevance: The topic, theme, and/or focus of your submission or pitch should be relevant to the content shared on this publication, blog posts, and social media accounts.

Originality: We want to share original content. We want to share your authentic voice as a tutor, teacher, or homeschooling parent. You are welcome to submit unpublished articles or essays, along with content you’ve previously shared in your own blog or socials.

Insight: What have you come to learn and love about teaching? How can your experience serve to inspire others, promote creativity, and community? Make sure your submission has depth and promotes introspection, learning, growth, new perspectives, and positive action.

Tone: Above all, we want to share uplifting content. We can talk about challenging subjects with respect and compassion. We want to offer an optimistic outlook and encourage our readers.

Word Count: Please keep your submission to 500-1,000 words.

Document Type: Please submit your article or post as a .docx Word document.

Response Time: You will be notified of pending status or approval for publication within 5-7 days after submission.

Editing: Copy and style editing of the final draft will be handled by the editor. Submissions requiring major revisions will be assigned a pending status. We’ll contact the author to revise and submit an updated draft.

Contact Information: This includes your name, email, and handles.

Author Bio: Your submission should include a short bio or blurb highlighting some of the relevant things you would like readers to know about your personal and professional life.

Important Note: The editor will have the final say on which submissions are published in the magazine and when they are published. We are open to working with the contributing author to improve a first draft.
